  • The Run window will appear on the screen; you are then required to enter C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v8 in the Run window.
  • The next step is to access Window explorer by pressing Window + E keys together.
  • Find the ECML file and, upon locating it, right-click on it, and then follow up by hitting the Delete option.
  • Once done with the preceding step, quit the window, run the QuickBooks software, and then register the product again.

Solution 2:Fix the Damaged QBregestration.dat file

Erasing the QBRegistration.dat file will de-register QuickBooks, and when you run it, it will prompt you to go through the registration process again, which will help you re-register the app using a corruption-free registration file.

  • Quit the QuickBooks application and access Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Delete keys on your keyboard simultaneously.
  • Under the Processes tab, browse and right-click QBW32.exe process, and hit End Process Tree.
  • Click OK, open the Run command window by hitting the Windows + R key on your keyboard, and type C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v6 or 8, and hit OK.
  • Now in this folder, find and erase EntitlementDataStore.ecml file.
  • Press Yes to confirm and launch the QuickBooks application again.
