Don’t Make The Mistakes I Did On YouTube If You Want To Be Successful.

You may have seen that my YouTube channel, LiquidOcelot, has well over 46,000 subscribers. It appears to be perfect, but as you can see from the life time metrics page, that is “Absolutely Not” the case. I have also barely made any money.

I’m going to talk about the fundamental YouTube mistakes that I made that caused these outcomes today since I am in the best position to recognise them now that I have uploaded over 1,000 films on the YouTube platform over a period of more than 12 years.

“9 Basic YouTube Mistakes That I Learned After Uploading Content On YouTube For Well Over A Decade” are as follows:

Don’t just stick to one specialty; make sure that all of your films are around the same subject.

After reading the criteria, it becomes evident that Google wants your blog to be for a specific specialty while you are putting up your blog for Google’s AdSense approval. Many people are unaware that YouTube also operates under the same rule. However, whether you are in broad niches like education or how-to & style, you still need to focus on particular issues within these categories.

I’ll use a culinary channel as an example. If you only post videos relating to cooking, but you decide to start a second channel for yourself and make a video about cryptocurrencies, you have no control over this because it’s a requirement of the YouTube algorithm.

My issue is that I have separate themes under the How-to & style niche on my YouTube channel, such as Reddit tutorials, YouTube lessons, Medium How-to Guides, and Crypto Guides.Although the parent subject matter is true—all of these topics fall under the How-To & style niche—it would have been better for me to create completely separate YouTube channels for them in their entirety. However, YouTube prefers even more specificity in their search and discovery algorithm, which is something you cannot afford to ignore.

Let’s look at an example of a YouTube channel that consistently produces content in a particular niche:

As you may have seen, Zulie Rane regularly produces videos in the “Writing and blogging” sector. She currently has more than 1.2 million views, but in one of her most recent articles, she claimed to have earned a total of over 13.1 thousand dollars, which is a substantial sum. The reason she is earning so much money is because YouTube has given her high CPM (Cost Per Mile) ad rates for her videos.

High Click Through Rates Require Relevancy, Not Clickbait

Naturally, the first thing that springs to mind when you think of a popular YouTube video is that it needs to have a catchy title and appealing thumbnail. Yes, this is true, but click bait is not the solution. The reason for this is because while people will click on your video, if the material is irrelevant, they won’t watch it, and as a result, the YouTube algorithm will penalise you.

Do Not Think That Daily Uploading Will Ensure the Success of Your Channel.

Although it is a good practise to upload frequently, doing so does not ensure success on the YouTube platform. On the YouTube platform, you can choose to upload just one video per month and still be successful. The biggest illustration of this is provided by Mr. Beast, the current face of YouTube, who posts twice a month.

You Are A Complete YouTube Failure If Your Audience Is Not Interacting With Your Content.

The YouTube algorithm will never promote your content if your audience chooses not to interact with it in any way, including through likes, shares, and comments. Even if you share your videos on social media to increase exposure, nothing will give your YouTube channel the much-needed boost. In order to engage your audience, publish in the community, respond to comments, and engage in live streaming.

Check YouTube Frequently For Policy Updates Otherwise, You Risk Having Your YouTube Channel Banned

Do the same for YouTube since, believe me, it is not easy to keep up with the updated YouTube policies as they are constantly changing. When your blog is approved for Google AdSense, you still check the guidelines repeatedly so that you might not make YouTube mistakes and get disqualified from the AdSense programme. Failure to comply will result in sanctions such as demonetization or suspension of your YouTube channel.

Seasonal content should be preferred to evergreen content.

Your primary focus should be on evergreen content, which delivers you views regularly over an extremely long period of time. Seasonal content may provide you a little lift, but it is hardly a long-term business strategy.

Inform your YouTube viewers to back you

Many YouTubers are reluctant to ask their followers for financial support. This is a very incorrect strategy because it prevents you from generating income from other sources. Solicit a patreon from your audience or a coffee from me. Encourage your readers to subscribe to your email newsletter and purchase your goods. You can only ask your audience if you have developed such strong brand loyalty.Asking your audience indicates that you have developed such strong brand loyalty that you are confident they would support you in whatever manner they can.

Bring In Your Audience From Your Viewers

Every time you upload a YouTube video, you should encourage your viewers to simply subscribe to your channel and push the bell notification bell. It may seem rather generic and uninteresting, but failing to do so will prevent viewers from becoming paying customers. Since this is your fundamental funnel, prioritise it on your to-do list.

Your viewership will increase by ten times if you share your YouTube content with relevant audiences on other social media platforms.

Simply post your Artificial Intelligence-related YouTube videos to relevant email lists, Facebook groups, LinkedIn groups, Quora Spaces, and subreddits. This will swiftly increase your subscribers and automatically increase your views.

Conclusion

The biggest YouTube mistakes any content creator can make is to ignore the YouTube platform because it has well over 2 billion active monthly subscribers. Therefore, do not blow this chance to reach a new audience.
