  4. Select Show Hidden File and click the Radio button, followed by going to the C drive.
  5. From the Local folder, find the QBPOS Shell with .EXE extension and right-click the file.

  7. Close the window and rerun QuickBooks to check the status of the QBPOS application.

Solution 2 – Add a New Local User on Windows and Log into your QuickBooks Desktop

  1. From the Windows Start menu, search for the Control Panel and click User Accounts and Family Safety.
  2. Select User Accounts and click Add a New User option from the Manage Accounts section.
  3. Add a user and select the Sign in without a Microsoft Account link to add a local account.

  5. Restart your PC and sign in with the new user account to open QuickBooks point of sale.
