If you have small eyes, you know the struggle. You can wear all the makeup in the world, but it won’t do much for your eye area if your eyes are already small. I’m here to help! Here are some bridal eye makeup tips that will make your eyes look bigger on your wedding day.

Start with the right makeup

Start with the right makeup
To make your eyes look bigger, you need to start with the right foundation and concealer. If you use a cheap foundation, it won’t blend well and will look cakey on your skin—and purple or gray eye shadow will only make it worse! The same goes for concealer: if you don’t buy good quality products that are designed to cover up dark circles, then they won’t do their job very well. You also want to use a high-quality powder that isn’t too heavy, but still gives your skin a smooth finish and keeps oiliness at bay throughout the day (if necessary). Don’t forget about blush either! An extra pop of color can really help draw attention away from this area of concern.

Apply primer before foundation

Apply a color-correcting concealer to the inner corners of your eyes. This will help to minimize darkness and make your eyes appear bigger.
Then, apply a concealer in the same shade as your skin to the outer corners of your eyes.
Lastly, apply a concealer in the same shade as your skin to the bridge of nose.

Line the waterline

One of the best ways to make your eyes look bigger is by lining the waterline with a white pencil. This will help give them a fresh and wide-awake look, which is perfect for your big day or any other special occasion!
You can use any type of pencil, but I prefer to use one that has been designed especially for this purpose. For example, L’Oreal’s True Match Super Blendable Liner does an excellent job of making sure that everything blends smoothly when you’re done applying it. It also has a brush attached so you can get started right away!
Another option if you don’t have access to this type of product is using a white powder instead (I recommend using Covergirl Clean Liquid Foundation in Classic Ivory). Just put some on your finger and gently sweep it along both sides of each lash line until they appear full enough without being clumpy or thick looking–keep doing this until everything looks good enough!

Curl the lashes

Next, you’ll want to curl your lashes. This is a good time to use a lash curler (if you don’t already have one), which helps the makeup sit better on your eyes. When using a lash curler, hold it at the base of your lashes and squeeze until they are slightly bent. Hold them there for 10-15 seconds then release and repeat on the other eye. A spooly brush can be used after to separate any clumps or lashes that may have stuck together while they were being curled.

Add mascara to your bottom lashes

Next, apply mascara to your bottom lashes.
The trick here is to use a darker shade of mascara than what you’d normally choose for your top lashes—a product that’s a little bolder, or has more black pigment in it will give the illusion of making eyes appear larger. This will also help make those under-eye circles disappear!

Use a white pencil in the lower waterline

You can also use a white pencil in the lower waterline. This is an easy and quick way to get those baby blues.
A white powder (you can apply it with a brush) can be used on top of your regular eye shadow or liner if you want a more dramatic effect.
Using a pencil, apply from the inner corner of your eye outwards toward the outer corner. The result will be bigger-looking eyes!

Fake false eyelashes

A key part of making your eyes look bigger is to apply false lashes. This may seem like a daunting task, but it’s actually quite simple!
First, you will want to apply lash glue by spreading the glue along the band of the fake eyelashes. You can use an eyelash applicator or just your finger for this step. Next, press your false lashes against your own lashes and hold them in place until they dry (about 20 seconds). Once they are dry, remove them gently with tweezers.

Use the right makeup. Your eye makeup should highlight and frame your eyes, rather than draw attention to them. Start by applying a color-correcting concealer under the eyes to neutralize any redness or discoloration that might otherwise stand out. Apply it in a small triangle shape from underneath the outer corner of each eye toward its inner corner, blending well into skin for an even finish. Then use an eyeliner pencil to line both upper and lower waterlines—the innermost corners of each eye—with dark brown liner (it’s no coincidence that this color is closer to black than brown). This will help create depth as well as define your lash line so it doesn’t look too thin or unnatural looking when mascara is applied overtop.#ENDWRITE

Conclusion

The most important thing to remember is that your wedding day should be fun and stress-free. So don’t worry about your eye makeup too much! If you’re having trouble getting a look that works for you, seek out some advice from friends or family members who have experience doing their own makeup. They may have tips they can share with you before the big day arrives so that when it comes time to get ready, everything goes smoothly.
